As part of our continued commitment to development through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, we have successfully completed the handover of a newly constructed and furnished porta cabin classroom block to Mosu Primary School.

This handover, held on the 17th of October in collaboration with Diacore Gaborone Marathon, is part of our ongoing commitment to support local communities in Botswana, ensuring that the children of Mosu Primary School have access to a more comfortable and conducive learning environment. Over the past 2 years, we have made other donations to the school and this one will have a longer lasting impact. This initiative also marks our alignment with the United Nations Development Program’s fourth Sustainable Development Goal (UNDP SDG 4) of Quality Education.

Hon. T.J. Matinako, Kgosi Abednico Makuane, Tshepiso Baipidi from Diacore Gaborone Marathon, as well as Thapelo Mfosi, Letlotlwa Dibe and Thatayotlhe Dintwe from Tongaat Hulett were all in attendance, with Mr Dintwe, on behalf of Peter Freeman, the General Manager for Tongaat Hulett, officially handing over the classroom block to Hon. T.J Matinako.

Mr Thapelo Mfosi, the Head of Marketing, Sales and Distribution for Tongaat Hulett, in his speech highlighted that “empowerment looks like a classroom where curiosity is rewarded more than just the correct answer. It sounds like the vibrant hum of a debate where diverse perspectives are not just tolerated, but celebrated. It feels like the resilience built when a science project fails, not as an end, but as the beginning of a new hypothesis”.
